I purchased a cowl pattern on ravelry that I had to have even though I felt it was a bit pricey... The design detail looked amazing and I thought it was worth it....
After several attempts at starting the project correctly I finally am on my way... The yarn I am using is Smooshy (Dream in color)... So far though I can see the stitch pattern develop, it does not look great and I think blocking it in the end will do the trick... here is a peak at my wip!!!

I finished the triangular shawl that I was working on and now it just needs to be blocked... In the meanwhile I came across the "flared lace smoke ring" pattern by Jackie Ericsson and I had to buy it... Its so pretty and I have to decide what yarn and color I am going to use for it... I hope I find time to make it soon!!!
I decided to take a break from knitting and crochet something for a change... I want to make a shawl I found at the cascade yarns website for free.. So I might just start working on that and get back to my knitting projects once that is done....
Will keep you all posted with pics for updates for sure :)!

I started making a triangular lace shawl yest from a knitting pattern I found on the web... I did tweak it a little bit to add a few more lines... Also I am adding a contrasting border... The scarf is a little complex and requires a lot of focus so that you dont mess with the stitch count ... I had to redo a line in the pattern as I had missed a stitch... so no messing with this pattern!!! :)...
Here is the pic of my shawl thats WIP!

So I added an accent flower using lavender colored yarn. I used crochet to create the flower and the pattern for it can be found in the link below the picture... Its a very basic flower but it does add a nice dimension to the scarf!!! Here is the pic of the scarf with the flower attached to it!
The pattern for the flower can be found here.....
Do let me know if you have any difficulty making this flower and I can definitely help you with that!

Today I made a scarf with pom-pom bunny tail yarn by loops and threads.... I had a choice between knitting and crocheting the yarn but I decided to knit it instead as I liked the flowy feel that it gave vs the tight knit feeling of the crochet....
I cast on 7 stitches using backward loop cast on and knit 59 rows. I knit only 6 of those stitches and used the 7th stitch to secure the yarn. I used size 8 knitting needles and then cast off using a tapestry needle and the following technique...
- Using the sewing needle, pass through first 2 stitches on the needle as if to purl, pull the yarn through with the pom-poms,
- Enter the first needle as if to knit and slip off first stitch from needle, making sure to stretch the yarn as you do so that the bind off lays flat..
Repeat steps 1& 2 through out till you have only 1 stitch left on ur needle and purl through that stitch and slip off… Secure the loose end by weaving in between stitches slowly as you have to tug to get the pom-poms through as well… cut yarn…
Hope this helps… please feel free to buzz me if you have any questions about this….
Here are the pics of the scarf...

So I finally am done with the baby hat that I was working on... I am going to get to writing a pattern for this one as well... This uses the yarn that I purchased a couple of days back, the "Cascade Pastaza"
Pattern for New born butterfly hat can be found here........
I used size 9 (5.5 mm) knitting needles with a German/Norwegian cast on...The only cast on I would trust for a ribbing especially for a hat....
I created the butterfly pattern for this design and will make the chart available as part of my pattern... I am also working on setting up a camera so that I can post some tutorials to help with the making of this simple hat so that many of you can join me as I knit and I can share my knowledge... I made this hat for a New born and think the size should be good... I would also like to work on a toddler size so that both my kids can be seen in similar hats :)... But thats WIP.....
Here are the pics of the completed hat... Enjoy and feel free to post any comments....

Hi People,
I know I promised a pic of the yarn I bought yesterday, but I have something better!!! I started making a hat for my upcoming little one and here is the pic of the same....
I will write out the pattern for this soon and post it online so many of u can work it as well... Since we are expecting a girl, I made this hat with an off white yarn and pink butterflies on it... Its really basic and simple and can be your first hat project!!!
I also experimented with a new type of cast on called the twisted long tail cast on or the German/Norwegian cast on... its easy to do but took sometime as this was the first time I used it ....

Hi People,
Today I went to the yarn store hoping some yarn will call out my name in the hope of creating more inspiration.... Unfortunately I didnt like any....
But I did happen to pick up 2 balls of
Cascade Pastaza yarn
50% Llama, 50% wool
Each ball has a weight of 100 gms and 132 yards, I am not sure how much of that yarn I would need. I plan to design a hat for my daughter with a new fair isle pattern that I have in mind....
Here are pics of the yarn!!!
Stay tuned for pics of the project once I start it... I will be posting updates regularly!

Baby blanket (crochet pattern)
I made a baby blanket for the upcoming new bundle of joy due in April :)... ..... Here are some of the pics....
I have written the pattern for this in American crochet terms.....I used a yarn of varying thickness across that gave this pattern a very interesting look... I used the Reynolds hopscotch yarn that I purchased online @ WEBS..... You can download the pattern here.....
Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
